OpenOffice is a feature-rich multi-platform office productivity suite. The user interface and the functionality is very similar to other products in the market like Microsoft Office or Lotus SmartSuite, but in contrast to these commercial products OpenOffice is absolutely free.
OpenOffice Suite is much like Microsoft Office in that you get several programs in one package. For each Microsoft Office Program (MS Word, MS Excel, Etc.) there is also a Program in OpenOffice that can modify those files.

(The only thing with this download is that it is 64.2mb. This will take several hours to download for Dial-Up users, but it is well worth it!)
