New Security System Makes Bank Safer

There is a lot more going on at the First Federal Bank's front door than customers passing through can see. It is quietly keeping the Macclenny bank safe.
"All personel in the bank feel safe, customers that come in feel safe," said Market Manager Dana Wood.
That's because the entrance itself uses locking doors, sensors, and cameras to detect for weapons.
If the system detects a weapon, an alarm beeps at the teller window and the bullet proof inner door into the bank will not open.
The teller can then talk to a person who might look suspicious before they let them enter.
"They could have a trenchcoat on with a hat and glasses, then at that point we could tell them to remove those items before they enter the facility," said Wood.
The bank says most people have had good things to say about the doorway detector.
"I guess when you first walk in it's different having to walk all the way forward but you feel real secure when you walk into the bank," said bank customer Randall Crawford.
